What BetMGM is buying
BetMGM has secured exclusive rights to develop The Traitors-branded online slots, table games and non-traditional casino games, with the first title already in market and further titles planned.

The word acquisition needs discipline here. BetMGM has not bought All3Media International, Banijay Entertainment, the production companies or the television format. Its 17 September announcement describes a new and exclusive online casino rights partnership. The disclosed categories are slots, table games and non-traditional casino games. That is a commercial IP position, not a change of corporate control.
The rights chain is split by function. The franchise licensing site says the format is owned by IDTV and RTL, while All3Media International manages licensing rights and brand extensions. In July 2026, Banijay said All3Media International and Banijay Rights had started the process of combining under the Banijay Rights name. All3Media International remains the counterparty named in BetMGM's release.
The first output is The Traitors Faithful Riches. BetMGM attributes development to Games Global and calls it the first of several planned titles across multiple gameplay experiences. InterGame attributes the title to Aurum Signature Studios. The reviewed sources do not explain whether Aurum sits within Games Global, so the primary announcement's attribution takes precedence and the discrepancy stays on the watch list.
The commercial file is private. The underwriting question is whether BetMGM can turn one rights grant into a repeatable Traitors catalogue across regulated casino brands.
Why the rights fit the operator
The Traitors gives BetMGM a recognisable entertainment property it can turn into repeat casino content across an existing regulated distribution estate.
BetMGM's own explanation is unusually direct. Oliver Bartlett, its SVP of Gaming, says television and movie IP is a key pillar of the operator's content strategy. The operator reports a catalogue of more than 7,000 casino titles across North American markets. The Traitors is intended to be a franchise inside that shelf, not a single licensed skin that disappears after launch.

The property arrives with an international licensing engine already in motion. A January 2026 licensing announcement said local versions had been commissioned in more than 30 territories across six continents and documented a separate long-term tabletop-games licence with TOMY. That separate licence matters because it shows the brand is managed by category. BetMGM's disclosed position is online casino, not every interactive or consumer-products right.
Reusability is the strategic fit. One rights agreement can support several game formats, developers and launch waves if the contract allows it. BetMGM has said several titles are planned. Each additional title can use the same recognisable programme, existing operator brands and regulated customer base without requiring the buyer to acquire a studio or rebuild its distribution network.
The weak assumption would be that recognition guarantees economics. It does not. BetMGM has not published title-level acquisition, retention, cross-sell, gross gaming revenue or supplier-margin data for Faithful Riches. The fit is credible at the content-strategy level. Financial performance remains unproven in public.
How the technology fits
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Developer named by BetMGM | Games Global |
| First title | The Traitors Faithful Riches |
| Operator brands | BetMGM Casino; Borgata Online |
| Technology provider | Entain powers BetMGM |
| Platform architecture | Operator stack |
Games Global is the named developer and BetMGM is the operator, but the remote game server, aggregation, certification and release architecture have not been disclosed.
The public technology chain has only three solid nodes. BetMGM names Games Global as developer of Faithful Riches. The title is offered through BetMGM Casino and, in two U.S. states, Borgata Online. Everything between the game build and the customer-facing brands is commercially important and publicly thin.
Entain's Q2 2026 update says it provides the technology and capabilities that power BetMGM, together with exclusive games from its in-house studios. It does not identify the remote game server, aggregator, application programming interfaces, hosting arrangement, certification body or commercial routing used for this title. Drawing those layers would turn inference into fiction.
Regulated distribution makes release engineering a market-by-market process. Michigan requires proposed internet games and material software changes to be evaluated by the regulator or an approved independent laboratory before use. New Jersey separately lists approved operator sites and imposes its own game, supplier and location controls. A rights agreement opens the content lane. It does not erase local product approval.
The technical value is optionality across an existing regulated stack. BetMGM can commission additional content against the same property, route it through its existing casino brands and localise deployment by jurisdiction. Whether later titles use Games Global, an Entain studio or another approved supplier is not public.
| Layer | Disclosed party | Contribution | Public gap |

| Operator | BetMGM | Casino brands, player base and content strategy | Title-level performance still to be reported |
| Technology | Entain | Technology and capabilities powering BetMGM | Game delivery architecture sits behind the operator stack |
| Distribution | BetMGM Casino and Borgata Online | Six named U.S. and Canadian regions | Expansion remains jurisdiction-specific |
Where BetMGM can distribute the franchise
The first title was named for four U.S. states and two Canadian provinces, while the disclosed exclusivity territory remains unknown.
The U.S. release names BetMGM Casino in New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. It also names Borgata Online in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The Canadian release names BetMGM Casino in Alberta and Ontario. Those are six distinct regions and two customer-facing brands, not six separate rights grants.
BetMGM's May 2026 market guide says eight U.S. states had legalised real-money online casino play through April and that BetMGM operated in four of them. The gap is not empty white space. Connecticut, Delaware, Maine and Rhode Island each have market-access structures that do not give BetMGM a simple operator launch path. Distribution is constrained by state licensing, approved partners and product controls.
The broader business reported 31 markets with mobile and retail offerings in July 2026, but most of that footprint is sportsbook-only. The Q2 disclosure described five iGaming-plus-sports markets and 25 sports-only markets during the quarter, before Alberta's subsequent launch. A national BetMGM logo is not a national iGaming licence.
Named product availability also does not define the agreement's territory. The announcements do not say whether the exclusivity is worldwide, North America-wide or limited to specific legal markets. Any map that colours all of North America would overstate the source material. The decision-useful fact is the six-region launch perimeter, with expansion optionality subject to rights and regulation.
How the combination could work
Rights are signed and the first title is launched; value now depends on a repeatable development, approval and distribution cadence for the promised broader franchise.

| Watch items | Term; territory; economics |
There is no disclosed corporate close or integration period. The operating sequence is rights, development, jurisdictional approval, release and performance review. The first two milestones are visible: the partnership has been announced and Faithful Riches has been named for six regions. The next titles, studios, markets and dates are not.
Governance has more than one layer. BetMGM is a 50:50 joint venture of MGM Resorts International and Entain. All3Media International is the rights counterparty inside Banijay Entertainment, while Banijay is still integrating All3Media International with Banijay Rights. None of the reviewed public material sets out delegated approval thresholds, brand-control rights or a reserved-matters list for this franchise.
A working combination would keep the rights boundary clear, give studios a repeatable production brief, clear each product locally, and use BetMGM and Borgata to test differentiated gameplay rather than duplicate one title. The evidence would be a second launched game, an expanded legal-market footprint and disclosed engagement or cross-sell improvement. None is available yet.
The downside is equally plain. The property may attract attention without moving retention or spend, additional titles may cannibalise one another, approvals may slow rollout, and content economics may stay ordinary even when the brand is famous. Brand fame is an input. It is not a margin.
What the rights deal says about iGaming content
Large operators are treating recognisable entertainment properties as repeatable content systems. The asset is not one game's artwork. It is the ability to commission a sequence of compliant products, reserve the brand against competing online casino operators and place each release into an existing customer and rewards network. The risk is that private licence economics can make a strategically attractive franchise financially ordinary.
Acquiry view. BetMGM has bought a useful content position: category-specific exclusivity over a globally recognised format, attached to a regulated casino network and a stated multi-title plan. It has not bought The Traitors itself. The proof remains further launches, market expansion and title-level performance.
The strategic logic is stronger than the available transaction disclosure. The proof will be repeatable releases, jurisdiction-by-jurisdiction distribution and title-level economics. Until those appear, this is a credible franchise-building move with an unpriced rights perimeter.
