Deal Intelligence

How Acquiry analyses transactions

Deal Intelligence is institutional M&A research, not a news rewrite. Every material figure is either disclosed, calculated from disclosed inputs, labelled as analysis, or marked undisclosed. Nothing here guarantees search rankings or AI Overview inclusion.

Published . Updated when the method itself changes, not on every article deploy.

Source hierarchy

Prefer the closest primary document. Do not cite an aggregator when the issuer filing or announcement exists.

Source tiers used in Deal Intelligence
TierWhat countsHow it is labelled
1 · PrimarySEC filings, merger agreements, issuer IR, official buyer/target announcements, earnings releases, audited reportsPublic record / disclosed
2 · Highly credible secondaryReuters, Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, specialist institutional trade pressReported
3 · SupportingInterviews, databases, industry commentary, adviser announcements — used only when a primary source does not existNamed, and never presented as disclosure

Calculations

An Acquiry calculation is arithmetic from identified inputs (for example net debt as a share of enterprise value, or a fee as a percentage of equity value). The formula or basis is stated in the article. Rounding can make an identity approximate; that is stated when it happens.

Never label a derived figure as management disclosure. Never infer a disclosed value where the source does not provide one.

Non-GAAP metrics

Adjusted EBITDA, EBITDAC, adjusted free cash flow and similar measures retain the company’s definition. Valuation multiples name the denominator. “20x earnings” is not used when the denominator is Adjusted EBITDA.

Currency, units and dates

Amounts are USD unless stated. Body copy uses $7.7 billion / $396 million / $32.50 per share. Tables may condense to $7.7bn / $396m. Multiples use 20.0x, not “20 times” or “20X”, unless the sentence requires it.

Machine-readable dates use <time datetime>. JSON-LD uses the same ISO dates as the visible byline.

Transaction status

Announced is not completed. Language matches the current public status: rumoured, reported, announced, signed, approved, completed or terminated. A signed take-private is a take-private agreement until it closes.

Corrections and updates

Material fact changes are edited in place. The original publication date stays. dateModified and the visible updated date change. Trivial typos do not. Write to press@acquiry.com.

Acquiry was not engaged by parties to the transactions it analyses unless an article says otherwise. Deal Intelligence is not investment, legal, tax or accounting advice.

What this page is not

This methodology does not claim that structured data, tables or semantic headings will force Google AI Overviews, LLM citations or rankings. It exists so readers, crawlers and retrieval systems can tell disclosed facts from Acquiry work.
