How the deal works

Your client relationships, valued and grown.

  1. 1

    You built the relationships

Your business already serves US founders and owner-managers who trust you and keep buying from you.

  2. 2

    The buyer acquires them

Cash at closing for the whole company or the customer book, with your existing services kept running.

  3. 3

PR is added, growth is shared

The buyer offers its PR services to those clients, and a potential earnout lets you share in that new revenue.

About the buyer

An established PR business expanding through acquisitions

The buyer wants to acquire businesses already serving the customers it wants to reach. Its growth opportunity is to introduce PR services alongside those customers’ existing purchases.

A loyal, commercially relevant client base is therefore more important than a large contact list or follower count. Customer quality, retention and realistic cross-selling potential matter more than headline customer or subscriber numbers.

  • Publicly listed operating company
  • International public relations business
  • Multi-million-dollar annual revenues
  • Existing PR services to introduce to acquired customer relationships

You don't need to be a PR business.

What matters is who you serve. If your paying customers are US business owners who could benefit from more media exposure, this buyer wants to talk.

Your customers are

  • Serious solopreneurs
  • Small and mid-sized businesses
  • Middle-market companies
  • Microcap companies

Also considered

  • Other business-service providers with owner-manager customers
  • Whole-company sales or customer-book sales
  • Founder-owned or not: the customers matter, not the seller's ownership

FAQ

Before you send anything.

Does the business need to be a PR agency?

No. Adjacent businesses can be relevant where their customer base supports the strategy, for example marketing, SEO, web design or founder-visibility businesses that serve US owner-managers.

Is there an earnings requirement?

The core target is US$250,000–US$1.5 million EBITDA, with 2–3× that figure in cash at closing and a potential earnout on top. Other strong customer-base opportunities, including unprofitable businesses, are considered individually.

Will the buyer consider a customer book rather than the whole company?

Yes, subject to commercial fit and appropriate contractual and data-transfer arrangements.

Are subscriber lists enough?

Permissioned audiences can be considered, valued more conservatively. Active paying customer relationships with proven commercial value are more attractive.

Is an earnout certain?

No. Any additional consideration, performance measures and payment terms would be agreed for the individual transaction.

Do I need to send customer lists or full accounts?

No. Please leave customer lists, personal data and full financial documents out of the first enquiry. A written overview with broad figures is enough to assess potential fit.
